- Superintendent of Schools - National District of the Year: Beaverton School District
Description
Update: Beaverton School District has just been named the national "District of the Year" by K12 Dive.
Please visit our Beaverton School District Superintendent Landing Page for additional information.
Beaverton is a remarkable place. Located just seven miles west of downtown Portland, midway between magnificent Mt. Hood and the breathtaking Oregon coast, Beaverton combines the best of a big city, the ease of a suburb, and the peaceful surroundings of a small town. Our school district, the Beaverton School District, now seeks its next exemplary superintendent to steward the continued excellence of this award-winning school district.
Please know that this search will not reveal the names of finalists publicly.
One of the three largest school districts in Oregon, our district serves 38,000 students and is home to more than 250,000 residents. Home to Nike and the “Silicon Forest,” Beaverton is an exciting, cosmopolitan community — far more international than most cities its size. About 40 percent of Beaverton residents identify as a person of color and nearly 20 percent were born outside of the U.S. Families in our district speak more than 100 languages at home. The richness of this cultural diversity is what makes Beaverton such a vibrant city.
As identified in our district’s promise – Belong, Believe, Achieve – we endeavor to create an environment in which our students, families and staff feel a deep sense of belonging and support to succeed in their school communities.
