About the Opportunities These roles sit within a highly collaborative advancement structure and offer the chance to: Build and manage donor relationships across the full lifecycle (identification → stewardship) Partner closely with deans, faculty, and advancement leadership Contribute to a growing campaign and expanding philanthropic reach Travel and engage directly with donors across key regional markets
Role Snapshots College & Unit-Based Roles –based in Eugene, Oregon (Arts & Sciences + Lundquist College of Business) Lead or support major and leadership gift strategies ($100K–$1M+) Partner closely with academic leadership to align donor interests with institutional priorities In senior roles, lead and mentor development teams and shape long-term strategy Support some of UO’s most impactful and academically diverse programs
Regional Philanthropy Roles- based in Eugene or Portland, Oregon (California, Hawai’i, Northwest & Southwest markets) Build and manage regional portfolios of donors and prospects Drive engagement across key geographic markets with significant travel (up to ~75%) Focus on gifts ranging from $25K–multi-million depending on role level Help expand UO’s presence and donor pipeline in priority regions These roles are part of a growing regional model designed to expand reach and deepen alumni engagement nationwide.
What You’ll Bring While experience level varies by role, ideal candidates will have: Experience in fundraising, development, or related fields (sales, business development, etc.) Proven ability to build relationships and close complex gifts or deals Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders Strategic thinking and/or leadership experience (for senior roles) Ability and willingness to travel regularly for donor engagement Preferred (not required): Higher education or nonprofit fundraising experience Experience working with boards, volunteers, or alumni communities
